Treatment Programmes

We offer a range of treatments to help you kick smoking tobacco for good

Our service is free and open to all.

We are staffed by specialist Practitioners who have received intensive training in supporting people to quit. They have many years of experience between them.

Evidence has shown that you are far more likely to succeed in quitting if you receive this type of support than if you try to go it alone.

We provide intensive behavioural and stop tobacco medication such as Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) on prescription. We also have extensive experience with e-cigarettes (vapes).

TREATMENT PROGRAMME

E-Cigarettes (Vape)

E-cigarettes are also known as vaporisers, e-shishas or e-pens. They are battery-powered devices that vaporise ‘e-liquid’.
E-liquid contains water, propylene glycol, flavourings, and usually, though not always, nicotine. It does not contain any tobacco.

Alternative

There is no burning involved in e-cigs, so there is no smoke or harmful products such as tar and carbon monoxide present.

Reduce Risks

Switching from smoking to vaping) e-cigarette reduces the risks of smoking by at least 95%.

Help Available

Your chance of successfully quitting smoking using e-cigarettes will be greatly increased if you receive expert guidance during your quit attempt.

Safety

Always buy e-cigarettes and e-liquids which comply with European Consumer Protection and EU Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) regulations.

NRT PROGRAMME

Nicotine Replacement Therapy

Nicotine replacement therapies (NRT), include patches, gum, lozenges, microtabs, inhalators and nasal sprays.

Cigarettes contain nicotine. By smoking regularly and over a long period of time, your body becomes dependent on it. Giving up smoking can cause nicotine withdrawal symptoms, which include cravings, headaches, feeling irritable and not being able to sleep. Stop smoking medicines like NRT can help you manage these withdrawal symptoms.

Replacing Smoke

NRT gives you some nicotine, but without all the harmful stuff like tar, cyanide and carbon monoxide.

Safer

It is safer to use licensed nicotine-containing products than to smoke. Licensed nicotine-containing products will be considerably less harmful than smoking.

Patches

Nicotine patches work well for most regular smokers and can be worn round the clock

Nicotine Gum

Gum can be helpful because it provides short bursts of nicotine.
